MOORING WITH US

Joining us could not be simpler.
Transparent pricing — and a warm welcome

JOIN US IN NEWBURY

Transparent pricing, monthly payments and a simple process

Our pricing is straightforward — based on the length of your boat and your choice of berth. Before you commit to us, we'll walk you through everything, and answer any questions you have. Here's how it works.

HOW IT WORKS

Three simple steps to secure your mooring

Come and see us

Before anything else, we'd love to show you around. All viewings are by prior appointment — call or email and we'll arrange a time. There is no substitute for walking the pontoons and getting a feel for the place.

No pressure, no obligation — a tour with Anna or Michael.

Reserve your berth

If you'd like to go ahead, a refundable deposit of  secures your berth while we prepare the paperwork.  (£750 residential/£500 leisure). Then we'll send you the licence agreement and all relevant documents to read at your own pace.

The deposit is refunded when you eventually leave the marina.

Bring your boat and settle in

Once the paperwork is done the berth is yours. Simply cruise to us on the Kennet & Avon and you will find us just upstream from Ham Lock. We'll help you settle in, and introduce you to your neighbours.

Minimum six-month contract.
Monthly payment in advance by standing order on the 1st of the month.

MOORING FEES

Our standard leisure rate for narrow boats:

£5.32 per foot/month

Our standard rate is for leisure use, based on a six month minimum contract, paid monthly by standing order on the 1st of each month, and includes VAT at 20%.
We review our rates once a year, with any increase taking effect from 1 January each year.
Our rate includes the mooring on a well maintained berth in our marina, and all the benefiits of mooring with us including:

- car parking (for one car) in our secure and gated car park;
- 24-hour secure gated access with CCTV throughout the site;
- water to each berth;
- elsan disposal;
- refuse and recycling.

Electricity is charged seperately at cost based on individually metered consumption.
A small number of berths — those bankside, or on our full-length pontoons — are a little more sought-after, and are charged at a 10% premium.

If you’re looking to spend more than three nights a week on board — an extended-stay or residential berth, we charge a premium (currently 30%), so residential rates are currently from £6.92 per foot per month.  We offer these at our own discretion, so we’ll want to meet you first, take up references, and make sure the boat’s a suitable fit for the marina and for residential or extended stay use

Wide-beam berths — we have a small number, and the rate depends a little on the berth itself, so we price these on application

As a worked example, a 45ft narrowboat for leisure use on a standard berth is currently £239.40 per month, including VAT.

VISITOR BERTHS

A place to pause on a longer journey

We occasionally have visitor berths available for boaters on extended cruises — or for those who want to leave their boat somewhere safe and friendly while they take a break from the water.

We are not a passing-through marina. We are better suited to those who want to stay a while and enjoy the location properly.

Visitor stays are available for a minimum of four weeks. The town, the canal in both directions and the road connections make Newbury a fine base to stop and explore.

CANAL & RIVER TRUST

No CRT licence required within the marina

Because Newbury Manor Marina is  privately owned, boats moored with us do not need a Canal & River Trust navigation licence for any period during which they are not using the main canal navigation.

For boaters who choose not to use their boat outside the marina during the winter months, this can represent a meaningful saving.
